Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzAnother awful Bob Hope comedy. It goes down as sour as a lemon drop.
Family Home TheaterJames PlathThere's something in The Lemon Drop Kid that's endearing enough to make it a nice alternative to the usual Christmas movies....
User ReviewMary LThe ultimate Christmas movie in my family. You have to like Bob Hope and old movies in addition to catching is subtle humor!! Freakin' hilarious, If it was done right this would be a great re-make oppertunity! The only version of 'Silver Bells' I have ever liked is from this movie. Great chracters and some what true to life plot, if you are a crook like the main chracter! A fivestar rating in my book.
User ReviewSteve LHILARIOUS and DELIGHTFUL!!! One of my favorite holiday movies!
User ReviewNate TSave this for Christmas time. Hope has to pay off a gangster he gypped out of money on a horse-racing bet and he and Maxwell introduce the perennial holiday song favorite: "Silver Belles", which Hope would later perform countless times on his television program. Sometimes even with his wife.
User ReviewJustin EI used to love watching bob hope films with my nan, he was such a classic clean cut comedian
User ReviewRudy AAny Bob Hope fans have got to see this classic
User ReviewBubba MClassic Bob Hope comedy set around the holidays. Bob decides to rig the bell ringing Christmas Santas and it all goes down hill from there - screwball style.
User ReviewJeremy SNot only is Bob Hope perfect as the conman with a heart of gold, this movie gave us the classic song Silver Bells, and Tor Johnson in a santa suit.
User ReviewShannon PA great Bob Hope" Christmas vehicle. This movie ought to be required viewing at Christmas. Instead, it has disappeared from view. It may not be quite up to the 5-star quality of "It's a Wonderful Life," but it is definitely a 4-star Christmas movie. And that's not bad at all, and it is better than 90% of what passes for Christmas movies today.
