Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzThis one goes down as Frank Sinatra's worst movie.
User ReviewDara KA good musical..Ann & Cyd danced ..I forgot the rest.longtime ago..
User ReviewMEC rThis movie is so adorable, and is what really made me a fan of Sinatra. The story is cute, the scenery is great, and if you look carefully you can spot a very young Julie Andrews in one of her first screen roles. What's not to like?
User ReviewAngel EyesIts Sinatra's funniest move ever! I love it!
User ReviewNik Bmany consider this as sinatra's worst film, yet i find it lighthearted fun. charming, and silly. very cute.
User ReviewNate TIs this the turkey Frank Sinatra made it out to be? Yes... If you can laugh at Sinatra getting thrown from a horse and singing modern (at the time) songs in the old west, it is a fun Sinatra outing.
User ReviewMarc FNot great, but nowhere near as bad as the Sinatra-philes tell ya. Kathryn Grayson is mad hot as always and Sinatra really impressed me with what he was able to do with such an inexplicable role of a Mexican bandit. WTF?
User ReviewKevin REvery man needs a woman to inspire him. Ricardo has left his family in Mexico to go to college in Boston and make an honest living. Unfortunately, his family makes him come back to Mexico after his father dies and pick up the family business...as the kissing bandit. Ricardo reluctantly begins the family business with the help of a family friend. "You think I enjoy meeting a man like you?" Laslo Benedek, director of The Wild One; Death of a Salesman, Namu, The Killer Whale; The Night Visitor; Sons, Mother, and a General; and Affair in Havana, delivers The Kissing Bandit. The storyline for this picture is just okay but the characters are fun and the film concludes well. The acting is awesome and the cast includes Frank Sinatra, Kathryn Grayson, J. Carrol Naish, and Mildred Natwick. "What are you, you ugly man?" I randomly came across this some time ago on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and had to DVR it. I love Sinatra and this was a fun movie from his youth. This wasn't an overly serious movie, and has some good comedic lines; but overall, this is just an average addition to the genre. "Kissing is the best part of the job." Grade: C+
User ReviewBryan MWhile not quite as bad as its infamous rep would suggest, it is not among Mr. Sinatra's better moments on film.
User Reviewjay nHas the MGM sheen but is severely lacking in the story department. Silly script sinks the picture although there is an excellent specialty number with Ann Miller, Cyd Charisse and Ricardo Montalban. Mildred Natwick is enjoyable in a small role in support.and Kathryn Grayson is in fine voice but this is the type of film that effectively killed Sinatra's career before he managed to come back with From Here to Eternity.
