Full Plot Details

The disturbed twenty year-old Rose Halshford moves with her father, the architect Jerry Halshford, to an old house after the loss of her mother. Soon Rose meets her next door neighbor Leila Markby and she learns about the tragic disappearance of the teenager Rachel that was sheltered by the previous owner of her house, Cheri Garrison and her son Marcus. Rose suspects Leila's father Howard Markby and she also learns that he had been the prime suspect of the police but proved his innocence. Rose overhears noises in the house but her father believes she is still traumatized by the loss of her mother. Rose also dates the constructor Noah Henry that is refurbishing the house. When strange events happen in the house, Jerry believes Rose is responsible. Is his daughter really paranoid?

User Review - 10/10 by Mick SWhen my favorite actress Miranda Cosgrove gave the news through her twitter that she was packed and on her way to Canada in the middle of winter to shoot a new movie, I was excited beyond belief. Through her twitter and instagram I found out it was going to be a mystery/suspense film. I was now even more excited being that Miranda was going to do something she has never done before. It seems EVERY amateur critic already hated the movie before it was even finished. They all cried like babies "waaaa it's going to be like every horror movie ever made!!" or "waaaa It's not going to be scary because Miranda Cosgrove is in it!!" I heard the crying from everywhere. To hell with them all. All those critic crybabies already hate everything and no movie made will ever impress them. Besides, I never listen to them. I judge movies for myself. It kinda saddened me that this movie went straight to dvd and digital download and didn't get a theater release but these things happen. So on the night of it's release, I started my download from iTunes on the second it was downloadable. A few minutes and I was watching. I guess the movie description pretty much sums up the movie so I wont go deeply into it. What I do want to say is our beautiful beyond belief protagonist Rose is not the usual weak helpless woman like in other similar films in the genre. In other similar films, no one ever believes the victim, here her father doesn't but there's a reason for it, here Rose has new friends that do believe her. The viewer is made to believe that Rose may or may not have mental problems. Rose has gone through some traumatic mental issues due to her mother's death. Thus the move to a new city and new house, to get a fresh start. Right away through Rose's exploration of the house you get the feeling of how she dislikes her new home and being that this all takes place in the dead of winter, there is a sort of claustrophobic feel since Rose has nowhere to run to and can't escape the possible intruder in their new home that is messing with her, be it the weird father neighbor next door, the handyman, maybe it's supernatural, or maybe Rose has just gone insane. This movie does have a nice creep factor going on throughout. To be honest, writer Jason Juravic seems like he did borrow the idea for this movie from 1974 tv movie "Bad Ronald". As for the acting, the entire cast did a fine job. Miranda Cosgrove suprised me. She did a very fine job being that this was her first time doing mystery/suspense. Jason Juravic did drop the ball a bit in writing. The antogonist in this was weak in story and background. It's as if Juravic rushed the story or had problems putting it together to make a cohesive and comprehensible story. It was sloppy and it showed. Maybe director Adam Massey can share in that blame. It's safe to say that Adam Massey is no Alfred Hitchcock. This seems to be his second film as director, first in the mystery/suspense genre. I don't really know him, the only other thing he has done is television director work on those 'Man vs.' shows. Maybe another director that knows the genre could have done a better job but what's done is done. Still, I loved this movie. It was fun. I hope Miranda Cosgrove will do more movies like this.

User Review - 6/10 by Ronda EMy kids love scary movies, but the "kiddie" ones are way too cheesy for us and the "adult" ones are always too vulgar for them to watch. With this movie having one 2 mild words and zero nudity it was perfect for us to watch in a room full of people age range from 60 down to 5. It had just enough suspense and creepiness for them and us without being too violent or crude for them.

User Review - 6/10 by Amanda HThis isn't a new concept, and it's pretty much your standard teen "thriller" with not a whole lot of plot twists, but it could be worse. Miranda Cosgrove is better suited to comedy, but I like her, and she does deliver a passable performance. Overall this isn't something I'd want to watch again, but I've definitely seen worse and if you're in the mood for a mildly creepy stalker-type flick in the vein of Swimfan or Fear, you'll probably enjoy this.
