Movie Reviews

Film Journal International - 7/10 by David NohBare-budget drama of gay male couple whose "accepted" existence in a small Connecticut town gets overturned when the teacher half is accused of impropriety.
Georgia Straight - 6/10 by Craig TakeuchiOverall, though, the film provides an engaging dramatization of a worst-case scenario faced by a gay couple forging their lives in uncharted territory.
User Review - 10/10 by Alyssa DAbsolutely phenomenal, I love how it takes you into a situation and shows you how life is for a gay couple and some problems they run into. I also love how it leaves room for the audience to decide what's next for them. It was enough to leave me hopeful and in happy tears. Definitely recommend for the gay community and everyone alike.
User Review - 10/10 by jay nSo well acted that you can forgive the somewhat weak ending. This is seriously worth watching.
User Review - 6/10 by Mike CThis movie was okay, not the best, but nice to see that the gay characters were actually committed to one another and not out screwing around... The story seems to leap way ahead in a random encounter during the storm scene, which really ruined it for me. Good, not great, but Cheyenne Jackson is in it so it gets an extra star. ;)
User Review - 6/10 by Lisa RSolid first half that is let down by a very poorly conceived and melodramatic climax. It also would have been better to have a lengthier set up and introduction to the characters prior to the accusation as well, but it is certainly watchable even though it has a 'telemovie' vibe.
User Review - 6/10 by Lee MA little rushed with the resolution, some of the dialogue needed fine-tuning and a few supporting actors should have their equity cards ripped from their hands. But, all in all, it's a decent attempt at a difficult subject.
User Review - 4/10 by Tosca FA serious and issue-driven film that feels a tad self-important and worthy - which would not be a problem had the lead character been better and more sympathetically written, (he seems so passive, he's just a bit too perfect/naive to be true?), and behaved less irrationally or foolish (bordering on incompetent) at times. But the film does have some redeeming qualities such as a great (and starry) supporting cast when they are able to break out delivering some much needed humour and comedic release for the audience. Ultimately, the cliched metaphors (storm approaching as the roof is being renovated, anyone?), the cartoonishly evil bad guy (not only is he a homophobic redneck but a wife beater and more...) and the (unintentionally camp and funny) climax mean that a star or so must be docked for its crime.
