User ReviewAshley HThe Gay Falcon is an excellent film. It is about the Falcon who investigates jewel thieves who are working with hard up socialites to defraud insurance companies. George Sanders and Wendy Barrie give amazing performances. The screenplay is well written. Irving Reis did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and mystery. The Gay Falcon is a must see.
User ReviewDave JAn introduction to the character created by the short story by Michael Arlen starring George Sanders as crime solver sleuth Gay Lawrence nicknamed as "The Falcon" whose main business is supposedly be stockbroking along with his sidekick, "Goldie" whose real name is Jonathan Locke played by Allen Jenkins. The Falcon who can''t seem to stay away from crime and women who is supposed to be getting married to his fiance is the gimmick stumbling into murder mostly involving jewelry. In this case, it involves a party and an expensive diamond..
User ReviewGreg WIt's an entertaining mystery, but rather forgetful if not for the suave George Sanders as The Falcon. None of the Falcon films seemed particularly memorable except for getting to watch Sanders charm his way through the film, although the adaption of Raymond Chandler's "Farewell, My Lovely" replacing Phillip Marlowe with The Falcon is pretty fun.
