User Review - 8/10 by Lloyd KSo bad it's good...worthy of being on MST 3000
User Review - 6/10 by Jason DHilarious 70's corny ass film involving a resurrected Dinosaur and hillbillies being eaten. Fun times. There is a DVD copy of this out there that is REALLY hard to find, but if you come across it, watch this silly ass film!
User Review - 6/10 by Colin GThe 3 stars is solely for Dave Allen's dinosaur animation as this low budget Jaws rip off fails on every other attempt. A good B-movie plot, a prehstoric monster is awakened by a meteor crash in a mountain lake, is wasted by a totally amatuerish handling of the production. If the lame attempts at suspense aren't enough, the weak dialog, awful acting and ridiculous attempts at comic relief by two good ole boys who rent boats, put the nail in coffin of this flicks B-movie potential. In an era of senseless remakes this is a title screaming to be turned into a better movie by more talented hands.
User Review - 6/10 by Leslie DSilly and dull but a real revelation on Blu-ray.
User Review - 6/10 by Wes SDecent story and the effects are nice, but the rest is rather awful. The film can't seem to choose its main characters and the humorous parts are ridiculous. The monster is fine and it has good parts, but it still falls flat in the end.
User Review - 6/10 by Patrick M65% "I wouldn't miss this hoe down for nothin'."-Arnie Chabot (Glenn Roberts) Unless you're a horrible movie lover, you'll definitely want to skip this mess. Painfully long, cardboard charaters, and the special effects consist of a plastic dinosaur head shot in a crystal clear swimming pool. As for the stop-motion claymation, well, to bad Ray Harryhausen wasn't around. A drunken midnight movie.
User Review - 6/10 by Zachary MIs it a bit weird when the most prominent and memorable thing about your killer lake monster movie is a pair of comical rednecks? No, really, okay then. The science behind this is monster is both good and shockingly horrible. Good in the sense that it addresses one of the things skeptics have always questioned about real life lake monsters, where do they get enough food to sustain themselves. After it wake sup it completely decimates the fish population. Bad in that it says that a single egg and remain fertilized in cold mud for millions of years and then come back to life when the water gets a little warm. The stop motion and model work are decent, but nothing comparable to say the works of ray Harryhausen. Still we got zany rednecks. Yay!
User Review - 4/10 by Michael SThe woods were full of monsters in the 1970s. This isn't one of my favorites.
User Review - 4/10 by Leana MAn aquatic dinosaur finds the locals of Crate Lake pretty tasty..Highlighted by a couple of hicks who rent boats to unsuspecting tourists who really know how to tie one on and some fairly decent claymation
User Review - 4/10 by Bill KMovie covers so many bases (slapstick, horror, police chase, sci-fi, claymation) and is a mess for it. Director shows some technique with eerie lake shots but the flow switches from tension to goofball in a heartbeat. Bad movie lovers only.
