Full Plot Details

"The Craigslist Killer" follows the dark, mysterious life Philip Markoff (Jake McDorman) conducted online while preparing for a promising future as a doctor and a life of happiness with his fiancée, Megan McAllister (Agnes Bruckner). Seemingly destined for greatness as one of Boston University's brightest med students, Markoff could do no wrong in the eyes of Megan, his friends, fellow students and professors. But hidden from those close to him was the violent wrath only he and his victims knew - beginning with his alleged April 14, 2009, first-degree murder of a masseuse who advertised her services on Craigslist. When police discover that the brutal killing and a number of other attacks on women were all connected to advertisements placed on Craigslist, their investigation ultimately leads them to Markoff.

User Review - 10/10 by Sean Di had no idea about the craigslist killer until i watched the movie. tjen i talked to one of my sisters who used craigslist and she said it happened in real life. i was actually quite impressed and remind you with no knowledge that there was an actual craigslist killer out there. to me the movie was interesting and I'd watch it again if i could.

User Review - 8/10 by Jess .I remember seeing this on a crime show. I think it was about people you wouldn't expect to be murders. Anyway, his story was one of them. A guy who had everything going for him. He was going to become a doctor, he had a woman who loved him. What's sad is that he did what he did. The ending to this movie was really sad. I think when you do something wrong, really wrong, it takes going to jail or losing the person who loves you the most, to make you regret what you did. I don't condone murders, or any of that, but I think when he killed himself in his cell, he knew he did the ultimate wrong. His poor fiancee had no clue that the man she was going to marry, was victimizing 16 women. I feel bad for her because no one wants to be betrayed in that way.

I wish we could know more about him but really, do we know anything about ruthless, evil people who seem like genuinely kind people on the outside?
User Review - 6/10 by Sam TAs i expect with lifetime all the actors look like models,they up the drama and some of the dialogue is hokey but overall it's a solid suspenseful movie that doesn't bore you which is the most important thing for me and the lead who plays markoff does a pretty good job at portraying the two sides to this sociopath. Overall a better than average movie then i expected.
User Review - 6/10 by Patricia Bfor 1/3/11: simple and straightforward crime-story about one of the most notorious online predators this is the definition of staying safe and avoiding total strangers on the Internet at points you do kinda feel sorry for the guy but in reality you know he gets what he deserves no sympathy is really needed except for his victims and you can only imagine the amount of pressure and torment his girlfriend was at the time discovering the truth of it all it ends not with a wimper but something to think about
