User ReviewKaroline ASo beautiful and well done that it is unbelievable how Selton Mello became the great director he is.

User ReviewAdriano VUma agradável experiência ver esse filme, tão bem dirigido por Selton Mello, comovente ver a vida sofrida e ao mesmo tempo divertida da trupe de circo, muito bom!
User ReviewJuliana S"The Clown" is a film of subtleties, and that choice is the secret of the enchantment that can cause. His characters and situations, are situated between the comic and tragic. His story makes you laugh and cry in equal measure. It is this ability to the opposite tack which causes the production to grow by the minute, and save for their final minutes, one of the most beautiful film sequences in recent years, in form and content.
User ReviewValéria VOne of the best brazilian movies in years
User ReviewTor MBrazilian flick where we follow a circus ran by a father and son. The son is getting quite sick of it and feels rather depressed while his deticated father tries to keep him in this line of work. Eventually the son, Benjamin, is trying to live a different life and the story is sat. It takes a bit long for the change of story here. Only twenty minutes are left when Benjamin takes on his journey. It looks great without being super impressive and it has some very catchy, cool music that follows and goes perfectly with the awarded film. Over 40 award wins is impressive! Almost directly the film reminded me a lot of an older Brazilian favorite "O Cheiro do Ralo". It turned out that the lead in that film is the director (and the lead) of "O Palhaco". I guess it really inspired Selton Mello, even if it's not his debut film or his first film after he did "O Cheiro do Ralo". He is probably more known as an actor by the way, doing several roles and only two full lenghts. A pretty good film, but not too interesting. The ending raise the rating a fair bit and as a total this is worth a go for fans of semi feel-good. 7.5 out of 10 fans.
User ReviewDaniel DThis delightful and sensitive road-fable is both moving and hilarious, and it takes a special time to introduce its adorable characters and make us genuinely care about them - even though it finds a rather too easy resolution for the main character's emotional conflict.
