Ozus' World Movie Reviews - 7/10 by Dennis SchwartzA bad film that is good because it's so silly and humorously inept.
User Review - 10/10 by Russell GJohnny Agar gets infected with evil contact lenses and stock footage chaos ensues! Can a floating brain and a dog save the day? It just might work...
User Review - 10/10 by Dustin RCrazy John Agar. My favorite early sci-fi because it's so damn bizarre.
User Review - 10/10 by Tony KAgar's alien-brain-possessed mad scientist is the best psychotic megalomaniac that never appeared in a James Bond movie.
User Review - 8/10 by Simon KIf you have any sense of humour this will reel you in like some kind of haddock
User Review - 8/10 by Ray DJohn Agar is a pimp. And pimps don't commit suicide.
User Review - 8/10 by Daniel HA so-bad-its-good sci-fi movie about a flying brain from the planet Arous. The acting is bad, the effects are bad and the story... well it's not super awesome, but it's so great that you can't help but like it!
User Review - 8/10 by Craig LPure cheese and a shining example of so-bad-it's-good 50's B film making. There's a plot about an evil alien criminal brain that escapes the planet Arous and winds up possessing heroic scientist John Agar. Of course, another good alien bounty hunter brain comes a-lookin' fer him (and shouldn't the film be called "The Brains from the Planet Arous" since there are two of them.) Brain 2 appears to Agar's girlfriend and explains all, and all agree that the best course of action would be for Brain 2 to possess the dog so he can keep an eye on Brain 1 inside of Agar. There's some nonsense about luring Brain 1 into solid form so he can be killed, and there's some axe swinging aimed at the Fissure of Roland or Orlando or something like that in the brain. This is apparently the weak spot. I was too busy watching the extremely visible black wires flying the brain around to worry about the plot. But who cares? This movie is so bad, so cheesy, that it's fun. Everyone plays the movie absolutely straight, except for Agar as Brain 1. His evil acting is so over the top, it make Iago look like Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. I have to mention Walter Greene's score. It is very effective, and is unexpectedly sophisticated for the genre. Listen for the sax music underlying some of Agar's quiet scenes with Joyce Meadows. I wish this were availble on CD.
User Review - 6/10 by Paul PBad Brain on String Wants Power and Women!! :=8O Yes, Gor, the evil brain from Arous, wants to dominate the earth and get off with B-Actress Joyce Meadows. Unfortunately, in order to do this, the bad brain must inhabit the "stupid body" of John Aggar, and suffer through his atrocious over-acting. Most of the time, the bad brain is just an off-camera projection; you can tell because frequently you can see the background lights of the projector. In his "true form", Gor is a large blob with eyes that never blink, automated by a pair of poorly concealed strings. Gor, when irritated, bumps into the actors when in this form. When in his projector form, Gor kills by turning on a small light on their faces. Big, blobby brain-invaders aside, the plot is absurd, and has only the merest nodding acquaintance with reality. Bodies never decompose or smell, even after a week in a 120 degree desert. Model planes on strings blow up, and then the strung bits hang suspended in mid-air. The Military, who cannot detect any residual radiation from the light blasts, immediately conclude that the earth is being invaded from outer space. When one extra remarks how fantastic that idea is, a general tells him that they are even now "considering an invasion of the moon". This turkey is one of the moost absurd cow flops the MooCow has ever seen. The pacing is slow, cowever, and the film only really picks up towards the end, when Gor must take on his "true form". It is fun to watch him bump John Aggar, and it's sad to see Aggar chop the brain up in the end. Yet another brainless brain moovies from the 50's, but lots moore fun. MooCow says check it out, but don't say you weren't warned. :=8/
User Review - 6/10 by Jon BWorth a look. Basically a horny brain from space invades the body of a scientist and turns him into a super-freaky love machine.
