Marie Bonnar (Dame Emma Thompson) is an insecure housewife whose husband, Joe (Adrian Dunbar), is having an affair. The two of them take a vacation to rural Scotland, but by sheer bad luck, end up at the hotel Joe uses for his "getaways".
