Film Journal InternationalDaniel EaganLow-grade comedy is a disappointment for Marx fans
User ReviewDaniel H:fresh: According to the "Film Factfinder" book, this film was said to be a career low for the Marx Brothers. I originally thought I wasn't going to like this movie, however surprisingly like most movies, I liked it.
User ReviewBobby DMy favorite Marx Brothers film because it has the best of all they've ever done. The best film musical performance from them when Chico and Harpo play the piano, mixing skill and humor making it entertainment every time I watch it. Groucho's one liners with the amazing and never tiring Dumont (no matter how many fioms she was in with them and always playing the same character). And the amazing chase scene throughout the store through the end. It could have used with out the end musical number with Martin, but at least they keep the secondary story of him and Grey out of the movie as much as possible without cutting it out all together. It's my favorite and in my opinion one of their best, worth watching for their fans and fans of the old school comedies. "Tell me, Wolfie dear, will we have a beautiful home?" "Of course. You're not planning on moving, are you?" "No, but, uh, I'm afraid after we're married awhile, a beautiful young girl will come along, and, uh, you'll forget all about me." "Don't be silly. I'll write you twice a week."
User ReviewLis Athe dept. store beds scene is priceless lol material!
User ReviewAj VThis Marx Brothers movie starts out just as funny as ever, but close to the end it gets overly silly and stupid, I am mostly referring to the chase scene, but in the end it gets back on track. Worth a look, especially if you're a fan.
User ReviewChristina LNot my favorite Marx Bros movie thus far, I have to give that to Horse Feathers. But it was a nice light comedy as always, enjoyable and relaxing.
User ReviewSam AWorth watching for the chase scene at the end. Four words: Groucho on a unicycle.
User ReviewPaul Sthe marx brothers. this was the first of their's i have seen & i absolutely loved it. so many great lines & moments. at times you can forget where it's going, but that's alright. a real relaxed movie
User ReviewVidal HA fun film from the Marx Brothers, but not one of their best. There's still plenty to be entertained by, a number of good jokes and gags, and some decent musical numbers. But there's still a sense of style over substance, and there are a number of things that can best be described as 'dated.' But it's still an enjoyable film overall, and a must-see for anyone who even slightly likes the Marx Brothers.
User ReviewAlejandro SMe gusto mucho, sobre todo los momentos donde Groucho saca su potencial comico
