Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzA shrill take on small-time thugs here mistakenly called beatniks.
User ReviewSamantha Cgreat movie. funny mistakes. It's also kinda funny that the characters don't exactly fit into the beatnik category
User ReviewJeff BOf course I only watched it with the MST3K guys; I think it really should have been called The Hoodlums because they weren't really beatniks. I saw the overhead mic in several shots. Awesome.
User ReviewKevin M. WA gang of raucous noncomformists are living on the edge of society, waiting for the cops to kill them in a as-pointless-as-their-lives-already-are shootout, when their leader is singled out as a possible vocal sensation (like a Frankie I-wanna-be-the-next-Frank-Sinatra Avalon kind've way). This breaking from the ranks the gang cannot tolerate, and the trouble begins. Beatniks? I don't see no beatniks around here. the gang only adopts some few beatnik-like attitudes to secure their waiting to be shot lifestyle. There's good singing though.
User ReviewTim SCrazy and terrible. The characters are interesting but they're not very good and the story leads no where. It makes a great MST3K episode though.
User ReviewBill BAnother Mystery Science Theater selection, the original film seems pretty laughable on its own, but is rather watchable and amusing with the new commentary. Biggest laugh is the gang of toughs, who all seem old enough to know better, acting like a bunch of high school bullies instead of someone actually intimidating. MST3K version all the way!
User ReviewJen HNot a single beatnik in the whole awful affair.
User ReviewBen WWatched then MNST3K version. "Where did she go, man? Where did she go? - I did it for you Eddie. - That's right, and now I'm gonna moon ya, I'm gonna moon ya!" Crow's the best.
