Conducting weird scientific experiments, crazed Dr. James Brewster, aided by his colleague Dr. Randall, has managed to transform himself into a hairy, stooped-over ape-man. Desperately seeking a cure, Brewster believes only an injection of recently-drawn human spinal fluid will prove effective. He believes to reverse the process he needs the spinal fluid from living human-folk, but his collegue wont help him collect it. The ape-man and is pet gorrila now have to go out and get some fluid from unwilling donors. Amusing to see Lugosi shoot up and I think there was dick-joke snuck in there near the beginning. |

Lugosi plays the whole movie hunched over like a gorilla, doing the worst acting I've seen from the man (and he doesn't have much depth to begin with from what I've seen); the man in the gorilla suit (Littlefield) does a poor job of playing an ape; and there is not enough direction to bring together the sparse story and the ridiculous characters and wrap it into a coherent whole. |
