User ReviewGrayson D"We've come back to the past to save the future, gentlemen; to put an end to the tyranny of Hitler's Third Reich". To be precise, that's 50,000 years in the past. Not to be confused with the other forthcoming sci-fi Nazi invasion movie, 'Iron Sky', 'The 25th Reich' is a crazy adventure about a small band of WW2 GIs that set off in the Australian outback to capture a couple of escaped pumas and end up time-travelling to stop the German army taking over the world. This is the second film that I've seen recently that can't really be written about without giving away all the surprises. Now, in my book, that's a sign of a good movie although it does mean that unfortunately there's hardly anything else that can be said other than it's an audaciously fun film with some eyebrow raising scenes. Admittedly the special effects aren't the greatest you'll ever see and none of the actors are likely to be putting an Oscar on their mantelpieces any time soon - yep, this is definitely B-movie territory - but a film this mental just wouldn't work any other way. Possibly the most ambitious low-budget movie ever made, this one has to be seen to be believed.
User ReviewShaun AI saw this film in Korea at the PiFan International Fantastic Film Festival where it had a terrific reception. It's such a funny, subtle film, and no doubt will go over the heads of many MTV audiences. But if you love cinema - particularly 50's and 60's cinema - you're going to get a kick out of this movie.
User ReviewDon UA deliberate attempt at a B movie. It started ok but kept getting freakier. Overall the story was good and different with a sequel promising more weirdness.

User ReviewLuke EI happen to go to film not knowing what its about nor expecting what it may be like. As it turns out its a well made modern low budget B-Movie in the tradition of the 1950s and latter day pulp novels. Theres certainly a great deal of depth with the characters incorporating them into a semifictional plot with big outrageous and quite entertaining twists and turns. The cast are great in there roles of US marines who go on the hunt for lost Puma Mascots in the Australian Bush only to be caught up with time travel and Nazi spider Robots linked to an alien they eventually caught up with. Theres simply enough entertainment through all its flaws and if viewers could disbelieve they'll have a great time with this film. So I'd say its a recommended, however you may see cheesy low budget sci-fi.
User ReviewBen SI don't really know where to start with this film, as it is the wierdest film I have ever seen (It involves time machines, ww2 us soldiers, dinosaurs, giant mosquitos, flying saucers and giant Nazi robot spiders, all in the same film!!) The only good thing about it is that it is very original and is very unique. Sadly there are a few more bad things about the film such as the fairly poor acting and the bad CGI (as this film is incredibly low budget). I found it really hard to give a rating as the film was not that great but for some reason I really want to see the sequel.
User ReviewDirty WThere is a surge of nazis exploitation films invading cinemas everywhere in 2012. Aside from 'The 25th Reich' as being one of them there's also: "Nazis at the center of the Earth" and "Iron Sky". Could the apocalypse really be upon us? Or was it the film 'Inglourious Basterds' that brought back this forgotten genre? Whatever it is, it's really hard to resist checking any one of these films out. Just to see how bad they really are. This one is bad, but it's the kind of good/bad that doesn't exactly warrant it to be awful. It's filmed nicely and for much of the film it's taken seriously until it reaches it's godawful finale. I was cracking up so much seeing Jim Knobeloch being rammed in the ass by a spider hybrid nazis robot. Ever see 'Wild Wild West' with Will Smith and Kevin Klein? Remember the spider robot that Dr. Loveless used? That's exactly what the nazis look like. Weird? Yes. Funny? Absolutely! The film is a bit short, but feels long due to the constant chatter among the small group of soldiers. There's many, many great shots in this film that heighten the atmosphere. It almost worked if only they hadn't injected a piece of 'Deliverance' into the film. It ends with the promise of a sequel: The 25th Reich and the War with God. Maybe that one will be better.
User ReviewNikki DTried to watch it but didn't hold my attention. Good premise but went very weird towards the end.
User ReviewSebastian BNot good. And there will be a part 2... :(
User ReviewDan BVery boring and has one of the most stupid scenes ever put to film: A spider robot nazis hybrid raping one of the soldiers. That's the only highlight in this piece of crap.
