Five friends returning from a marriage in Canada return home to the United States. Not far from the border, two customs officers stop them to check their identity. Suspicious, they take their time especially with Jalil, a man of Arab origin. The situation worsens when a customs officer finds a small bag of marijuana in the luggage. It's an angry movie, and a very righteous one; this is the perfect representation of wrapping yourself in the flag, committing atrocities in its name, and declaring yourself a patriot. The last 15 minutes and we're suddenly walking with fire; Lynch would be so proud! Not to be missed! |

Good thing that is unexpected, Its not very predictable and I almost loved the fact it was not a revenge movie in the end, because slipping into that would have been so easy. Also the music from Koudlam to Death in Vegas are very good pick. Underrated, almost unknown I suggest you to see this movie right now. Its not gross or splatter, it goes beyond and for once I like that. Just the child ghost, WHY ON EARTH? it was perfect without it. |

| User ReviewMarc LComme a chaque fois (ou presque) qu'on a affaire à un film de genre français, les attentes sont déçues : le moins qu'on puisse dire, c'est que ce "Territoires", réalisé par Olivier Abbou, rame sec pour s'extraire du schéma et des poncifs obligatoires qui régissent l'univers du Survival. Et ses tentatives, honorable sur le papier, d'offrir trois points de vue successifs (les victimes, les psychopathes et le détective qui enquête sur l'affaire) ne parvient malheureusement qu'à briser son rythme et diluer ses effets. Accessoirement, "Territoires" nourrissait également cas des ambitions de film "à message". Avec ses gardes-frontières américains tarés qui, soupçonneux à l'égard d'un voyageur trop bronzé, recréent un petit Guantanamo dans leur coin de cambrousse, "Territoires" avait la ferme intention d'apporter sa pierre à la dénonciation des pratiques "patriotiques" en vigueur durant les deux mandats de George W.Bush. Si le procédé n'est pas dénué d'intérêt et est traité avec un réel souci de réalisme, il arrive cinq ans trop tard pour être en phase avec l'humeur politique du moment...et sans doute cinq ans trop tôt pour mériter le qualificatif du film de genre qui revisite courageusement les travers d'une époque. |
