LarsenOnFilmJosh Larsen...has a certain looseness compared to other MGM musicals.
User ReviewAmanda FI LOVEEEEEEEEEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!<33333
User ReviewBradley HCome on, get happy! Judy has never, ever, been funnier than in this charmer about a touring musical troupe performing in her barn. Gene Kelly and Marjorie Main offer sensational support, but this is all Judy's picture.
User ReviewChrisanne SJudy and Gene. Delightful. She is so vulnerable here, he seems to be the person she leans on. I can usually stand Silvers, but not in this one.
User ReviewAlan WThis is a good movie A small-town farmer, down on her luck, finds her homestead invaded by a theatrical troupe invited to stay by her ne'er-do-well sister.
User ReviewEmily MWho doesn't want to dance with Gene Kelley?
User ReviewRaquel DFantastic movie! Gene Kelly and Judy Garland...what more can a person ask for!
User ReviewBrittnie SOne of my favorites....right after Singin' in the Rain.
User ReviewJennifer MOkay, so Gene Kelly's dancing is wonderful. That's the only reason I gave this movie 3 stars. I'm a total sucker for Gene Kelly. I don't get Judy Garland at all. Yeah, she's got a nice 1950's voice. But she looks like Queen Elizabeth without the purse. Major canckles action. A definite size 14 (which is perfectly fine IRL, but not next to buff and butch Gene Kelly. She looks like his mother. Plus! He's wearing jeans (kind of dorky, but I'm sure they were rad in 1951) and she's wearing, well, a dress only The Queen would love. I do love the black stockings with seams (Judy isn't wearing them). Gotta get a pair.
User ReviewBrian SJudy Garland and Gene Kelly are such a wonderful combo. And the scenes just seem to keep moving towards the finale which IS the show. Garland's rendition of "Get Happy" is such a great ending to Garland's MGM career.
