Classic Film and TelevisionMichael E. GrostCharming musical with wonderful Judy Garland
User ReviewLora RFar exceeded my expectations. This has a lot of little gems. And it's obvious that it's the inspiration for You've Got Mail. The scene at the restaurant is nearly identical to the same scene in this movie.
User ReviewAshleigh SThis was really funny. The first scene where Judy and Van meet was hilarious. The last scene in the shop was the best. "And just think, pretty soon you'll be Mrs. Goosepickle!" Hilarious!!!
User ReviewAlan WThis is a great movie. MGM musical mainstays Judy Garland and Van Johnson star in a tuneful remake of The Shop Around the Corner, about two pen pals who fall in love without realizing they work together in the same shop...( read more read more... ); and don't like each other much! Set in turn-of-the-century Chicago, the movie features the film "debut" of 2-year-old Liza Minnelli (glimpsed in the last scene cradled in her mother's -- Judy's -- arms).
User ReviewStefanie RThis is what I call a perfect romantic comedy musical. It has everything you wish a movie of this genre could have. It's funny, romantic, charming, great chemistry between the leading parts, great music and of course the talent of the one and only JUDY GARLAND... I think is definitely one of my favorite movies of her. By the way t the end you see Liza Minnelli freaking cute little girl!
User ReviewVadim DLove it, four of Hollywood's best known and loved actors of all time. Shop Around the Corner with music, what more could you ask for!?
