User ReviewFilmGrinder SI never really cared for mafia movies but Street Boss I loved. It wasn't like the typical mafia movies like Scarface and The Godfather. It entailed drama instead of the ridiculous amount of stereotypical Italian mobsters running around cursing, drinking and leaving a trail of blood baths in their wake.
User ReviewErin CMaverick Entertainment Group's new release Street Boss is absolutely awesome! Its one of the best mafia movies I've seen in a long time. For an independent film Street Boss is shot amazingly well. The film work is excellent and the acting is phenomenal. It has violence, police corruption, family ties, extortion and a badass rogue FBI agent named Phil Kerby who's trying to put a stop to all of it. To make the movie even better, it's based on the True events of Phil Kerby's life as an FBI agent. Street Boss is based out of Detroit one of the grittiest cities in the country. Tony Jack ran the mob and owned the city, no one dared cross him or stand in the way. In fact he had a large portion of the Detroit police force on his payroll. Tony used his power to extort business owners everywhere in the surrounding areas, taking more from them then they could even make. That's until Phil Kerby was placed on the scene, Phil like many others was transferred to the Detroit FBI force on bad behavior. Without giving too much away, let's just say he had a bit of a violent past. Phil was determined to stop the police corruption and bring down Jack and the Detroit Mob.
User ReviewAnthony RSeeing I'm the first to talk about this film, I'll compare it to other mafia flicks. This film is no Goodfellas, No Casino, No Donnie Brasco or even no Sopranos for that matter (the latter being a television show). But what it does give us is a mafia film that is watchable and made on a shoestring budget. For that I give Lance Kawas a friendly handshake.
User ReviewJenn TInteresting acting, lame plot and low budget.
User ReviewAaron MLove mob movies. Love Vincent Pastore from The Sopranos. But this thing is borderline unwatchable. I've seen better acting in beer commercials.
User ReviewPete SLow grade version of Sopranos with terrible acting. Blah
User ReviewBrody MJust your average Mafia movie.Nothing special about this 1
User ReviewKen LIf this was really BASED ON A TRUE STORY then the script was poorly writen. This was the worst mafia movie I have ever sceen. The acting was terrible, the action was a joke and the jokes were lame. No offence to the Mafia, respect due.
