Full Plot Details

Stanley studies in an all-boys Holy Family High School in Andheri East, Mumbai. While his class-mates bring their very own Tiffin-boxes, Stanley does not do so on the pretext that his mother is away, and shares food with Aman Mehra and others much to the chagrin of the Hindi Teacher, Babubhai Verma, who not only cajoles fellow-teachers, but virtually forces children, to share their food with him. With extra classes being imposed on both students and teachers, and the recess-breaks being doubled, parents are also forced to pack more food in lunch-boxes. When students evade Babubhai and continue sharing food with Stanley, he calls the latter aside and warns him that he cannot attend school until and unless he brings his own food. Watch what impact this has on Stanley, teachers, and his class-mates.

User Review - 10/10 by Ajayesh SThis is probably one of the best flicks of the year and it is almost on the same level as Taare Zameen par for its emotional pull/message and cinematic content. I don't want to ruin the movie by adding spoilers so it should suffice, that this is one movie you must watch. Amazing performances by one and all, especially Amole Gupte, Partho and the entire ensemble cast.

The character, Stanley, tugs at your heartstrings with his indomitable spirit, while warding off the hostile world he is surrounded by at all times, everywhere. The film reveals how this child-soldier, rises above his choking real life situation on the way setting a template for all whiners to learn from and even emulate.

The characters are wisely chosen and complement each other, even the relation of the school's father with stanley, who knows his living conditions. A must watch for the ones who want to laugh and cry at the same moment.

Partho has done a great job, Entire movie was shot in short periodic theater session !! And no Child missed any Schools to shoot this !! .. Child-Labor, Poverty, Ambition, Aspiration of a Child .... All the Teachers in the Movie Reminded me of someone or the Other similar teacher of my school life !!
