Successful doctor Artur Planck, his wife Clara and their two daughters are seeking shelter from Germans storming Poland. They find a safe house in the farm of Emilia, their local grocer who is all alone after her husband fought for his country and never returned. Amidst the horrors of the war that surround them, an impossible love triangle erupts as Emelia uncontrollably falls in love with Artur. | User Reviewscott gSet on a farmhouse, where a couple, the wife who can not pass her jewish heritage, hide out through the good nature of the young woman living there, but its clear, while doing a good deed, she will want more from the husband, who takes a active role helping run the farm, while holding out with the wife and child, as time passes, the husband whom starts having a relationship with the woman will have to make tough desisions. a well made film and a intimite drama, focusing on a story of wartime, some tough moments move story along, and all concerned give it there all. |

Playing on the emotions of the Nazi crimes Spring 1941 easily evokes emotion but feels a bit cliche which in the end really hurts it's overall effect. Still a fine movie in the WWII library even if a bit forced. |
