Time OutJohn CollisPart of the plot harks back to The Navigator, but three of the sequences put the film up in Division One, crowning a decade of unparalleled creativity which was then stifled by studio inflexibility.
Three Movie BuffsScott NashThe Great Stone Face may have made better films, but even this lesser effort still contains some comic gems.
Movie MetropolisJohn J. PuccioThis was Keaton's last silent movie, and as such it marked the end of an era for one of the silent-screen's most notable stars.
The SpectatorClancy SigelThere's still enough inspired joy in this old film to make most current comedies look feebly unoriginal.
User ReviewKristen SKeaton's last Silent feature but one of his best
User ReviewBevan CAfter watching this comedy, I can see how Jackie Chan was heavily influenced by him. A great, unexpected film. You know it's going to end happily, but the journey getting there was pretty fun!
User ReviewAntonius BKeaton is hilarious as always in this movie. If you're a fan of his, you'll love it.
User ReviewJosh GThis was the first Keaton film I watched on TCM. I really liked it - its really funny. I really like the part, where Keaton was trying to put the girl on the bed. It was really good, this scene was also in Keaton's early movie - The Navigator. Overall, the movie was good. But comparing to his previous movies and shorts, it was not the best one.
User ReviewKevin NIt's a solid enough silent comedy, but it doesn't compare to some of his other work. Genuinely funny in parts, though, and it features Keaton's own yacht.
User ReviewHunter DWhile it's a funny gag-filled Keaton comedy, this is where you can really see MGM starting to tighten their grip on Keaton's creative freedom. The gags are less daring, and while I was smiling and chuckling a bit, I never busted a gut like I did while watching 'The Cameraman'. His best work was behind him at this point.
