Film4Anton BitelWhether it is a psychodrama or a ghost story, Song Il-Gon's heady blend of mixed-up memory, desperate loss and overwhelming guilt will have viewers returning to its primal scene again and again in search of answers.
Filmcritic.comDon WillmottSpider Forest is interesting enough and watchable, but it lacks that aha! moment that those who stick with such a confusing story deserve in the end.
User ReviewPrivate Uthe delivery is pretty david lynch-esque, confusing with moments of beauty. i liked the cinematography in this movie more than Gam Woo-Sung's other releases.
User ReviewMike Ma strange film, need to see it more than once!
User ReviewAnthony VA great message movie. Part drama and part horror. One of the best Asian films ever made.

User ReviewKainan JVery much reminiscent of a David Lynch film, complete with a non-linear plot that blends past and present together with flourishes of the surreal. An omnibus and foreboding atmosphere creates a hypnotic quality that draws the viewer in and the emotionally intense performances from the stars also demand our attention. The initial premise of the mystery (an amnesic man must find out what happened within the Spider Forest) is certainly intriguing and the viewer keeps watching if only to discover the answer, but the script is very abstract in its revelations and one may be even more confused when the answers do arrive! This is most certainly a film you need to revisit more than once as each viewing adds a new piece to the puzzle, one that can hopefully be solved. A challenging film that will require the patient and attentive viewer... not recommended for those looking for a conventional thriller.
User ReviewMichael RA very good psychological thriller/horror. Bit confusing at times tho.
User ReviewMiteal CIf David Lynch ever made a movie in Korea, this would have been it. Drawing obvious inspirations from the master of bizarre, Song Il-gon has churned out a movie which is deadly mysterious and equally haunting.
User ReviewChris SThough its not the best Korean thriller I've seen, its worth checking out because the premise is strong, the effects and visuals are pretty amazing, the atmospheric horror is close to being phenomena. Again, Asian filmmakers, including the Koreans have a keen eye in tension.
