The crooked Sheriff offers The Kid, a man wanted for a previous robbery, a one fifth split in a gold shipment theft. After getting the gold, The Kid foils the attempt on his life getting one of the other four. Later he foils another attempt getting one of the remaining three. Of the two remaining one is the Sheriff. The unknown other is the boss and the man that framed him for the earlier robbery and this is the man he is after.... (Full plot summary below)
