Mark Leeper's ReviewsMark R. LeeperBecause the overwhelming majority of the film is just phone conversation, this material almost could have been better served by being a radio drama.
Globe and MailAdam NaymanBad dialogue in a film that is basically just wall-to-wall talking is a major problem, but it's not the only one on display.
User ReviewDiane RSomewhere Tonight, or its new name, 1-900-TONIGHT, is a sweet love story about two lonely people living in New Youk City. Wooly, played by John Turturro, is a bike messenger, and Patti (played by real wife Katering Borowitz) is an agoraphobic shut-in. They are both trying to find love and companionship on an adult phone chat line. Wooly and Patti are sexually inexperienced because of their lack of social skills and quirky personalities. Both Turrtorro and Borowitz do a wonderful job of displaying their characters' unusual personalities with funny dialogue and convincing performances that will keep the viewer smilling and interested right up to the end of the movie. Michael Di Jiacomo has done a great job of creating characters that we care about and ends the movie with a satisfying ending.
User ReviewFrances HInteresting dialogue between two people struggling to overcome their problems of loneliness and isolation caused by their mental conditions and desperate to connect to someone.
