User ReviewBurnz PAfter years of moving, 15-year-old Tamara is tired of starting over. When her unconventional family relocates to a conservative country town, she discovers new friends, new romance-and a chance at a normal life. But just as she begins to feel at home, her mother is hospitalized, forcing young Tamara to grow up quickly and find the strength to keep her family from falling apart. Set in rural 1950's America, this coming-of-age story tells a tale of courage, faith, and the power of forgiveness.
User ReviewRed LA made-for-TV type of movie about a young girl growing up in a new place every year. Although the movie is primarily about the girl, we get a history lesson on treatments for TB in the 1950's. This movie is alright. Nothing outstanding - like someone's first attempt at directing a movie.
User ReviewZarinah HA surprisingly well-told and credibly acted coming of age story. Katie Boland plays a teenage girl on the cusp of womanhood who is tired of constantly moving with her painter father, bohemian mother and younger siblings. They find a new home amongst a conservative community, and the mother falls ill with tuberculosis. Amidst the chaos, the young girl grapples with difficult issues such as faith in God, attaining maturity, boys etc - all told with sensitivity and poignancy.
