Full Plot Details

In feudal Japan, women are vulnerable, in need of protection, and capable of deception. Jokichi of Mikogami, a drifter, has not yet fully revenged the death of his wife and son. He searches for Kunisada Chuji, who in turn has hired the knife-throwing Windmill Kobunji to kill him. Kobunji and Jokichi meet in the winter, near Sasago Pass, when both have rescued women: Jokichi has saved the lute-playing Oyae whose clan and whose lover want her dead; Kobunji has rescued Oharu, a well-born woman married to an innkeeper. Is this rescue a whim or something deeper? And why does Jokichi become the consumptive Kobunji's protector? What ultimately will Jokichi do about Oyae?

Before Jokicho can find Kunisada, he runs into a knife throwing assassin that was hired by Kunisada to kill Jokicho. Just as the assassin begins to duel with Jokicho, they are attacked. The assassin cannot defend himself due to his condition of tuberculosis. Jokichi decides to help the assassin hired to kill him. [/color][/font][/size] [size=3][font=Times New Roman][/font][/size][font=Times New Roman][size=3][color=white] [/color][/size][/font] [font=Times New Roman][size=3][color=white]?It is only natural that your parents would want you dead before you?ve found out.?[/color][/size][/font] [font=Times New Roman][size=3][color=white] [/color][/size][/font] [size=3][font=Times New Roman][color=white]Kazuo Ikehiro, director of Monkey Magic; Trail of Blood; Fearless Avenger; Broken Swords; Zatoichi 6, 7, and 14; Gan, and Young Boss, delivers Slaughter in the Snow. The storyline for this picture was the best of the trilogy. The story of the man dying from tuberculosis, and the man assigned to be killed by him saving him, was remarkable. The acting was solid and everyone delivered believable performances. I purchased all three of these pictures at a decent price off eBay. The films were okay and entertaining, but they were not as good as the Zatoichi, Samurai, or Lone Wolf and Cub series. I would honestly say this was the best film in the series. This series is worth watching, but only after seeing the three series referenced above.
