| User ReviewSaad KShocking Blue - CATCH IT (B) Shocking blue is a very simple Dutch movie about William, Jack and Chris have been friends for as long as they can remember - until that day in April when Jack ends up under the wheels of a tractor, his body crushed, William at the wheel. Suddenly nothing is left of the boys' friendship. Chris tries his best, but William is one lump of impenetrable rock, secretly wondering if the events of the night before, when Jack went off with fifteen-year old Marianne, had anything to do with the accident... Shocking Blue is an innocent movie about friend, first love and jealousy. Even though at times the movie seems little unreal as there is no supervision on these teen kids wondering around, living together and eventually even giving birth. The young cast Willem (Ruben van Weelden), Jacques (Niels Gomperts), Chris (Jim van der Weelden) and Marianne (Lisa Smit) are perfect in their cast as innocent teenagers growing up. The only reason it works is because of its stunning cinematography and young cast otherwise the story is very bleak since in real world no one let a 15 years old pregnant girl to live with a boy in a glass house. The movie is shot in beautiful tulips fields and cinematography is stunning. I enjoyed it! |
| User ReviewLaimis Zi say 'meh'. it is somewhat engaging till the first turning point and then it kinda gets lost in its own intentions. a sort of play pretend game of house and family. puberty is never easy. duh! but it is dull, at least in this story about tulips :) |
