| User ReviewLucas APeppermint Patty is the main character of She's a Good Skate, Charlie Brown, and against my expectations, she's likable... I guess when she has no Charlie Brown to boss around, she's okay. This lesser-known Peanuts special is better than you think, making it as strong as the holiday shorts. Snoopy is hysterical in this film; he plays a stereotypical furious skating coach. He reminds me of an angry Russian, complete with trapper hat and the irate noises that come out of his muzzle are hilarious. The soundtrack is one of Peanuts' best; it has a hauntingly beautiful rendition of "O Mio Babbino Caro" whistled by Woodstock. If you're a fan of Peanuts, don't miss She's a Good Skate, Charlie Brown. |
| User ReviewSenor CHad the benefit of a 2nd feature when ABC played Happy New Year's Charlie Brown & I had never even heard of this. Centering around Peppermint Patty & a figure skating competition so it's more geared for girls or lesbians. Still not enough Snoopy even if he was Patty's coach. I liked how he fucked up Patty tape @ the competition & then Woodstock stepped in to whistle her song to skate to. It was a much better touch then to have some bad 80s song that they wrote for this. Later Charlie Brown doesn't quite have the score as supplied by Vince Guaraldi |
