Full Plot Details

Corporate real estate tycoon Hamilton Lux sets his sights on developing the quaint seaside town of Full Moon Bay into a prime getaway for the wealthy, but runs into some unexpected problems. Lifelong fisherman Daniel Wilder owns property exactly where Lux wants to build high-priced condos, and isn't planning to sell. Lux secretly laces the local waters with a toxin deadly to marine life, decimating the fishing industry in an attempt to starve Daniel out. Alas the chemical react differently on the area's sharks, drastically increasing their aggressive tendencies and transforming them into engines of pure destruction moving in coordinated swarms. Without fish to feed on, shark attacks on humans rapidly increase. Lux uses media contacts to paint the attacks as random incidents. Daniel, his marine biologist brother and a concerned E.P.A. agent must expose Lux's plan and rid the area of the chemically-altered sharks before the town's entire population is devoured by hungry sharks.

User Review - 8/10 by Tess MI love watching John Schneider movies & Shark movies too. This wasa great movie. You should check it out. A ruthless resort developer poisons the waters off a California fishing village to trick the locals into selling their land, but one fisherman Daniel Wilder (John Schneider ) , faimly and his brother isn?t biting. While he makes their life hell, hundreds of mutated sharks begin preying on the townsfolk. The acting here is pretty good & a great performance.

User Review - 6/10 by Geir FThe average B-grade shark flick,but with a better looking shark and some name actors.(Daryl Hannah was horrible in her role.HORRIBLE!!!)But it was enteirtaining and dumb fun,my main gripe was the lack of gore we got.And watching Armand Assante get eaten by a shark was a good time also!I wouldn't recommend it tho,but if you happen to catch it on TV and you are really bored,go for it.

Wouldn't watch it again, but I didn't feel like it was a total waste of time. Among the shark genre we gave it a B mostly for the good acting by Daryl Hannah and john Schneider who did a lot with very little.
User Review - 4/10 by Lee BShark Swarm is a below average film about killer sharks. John Schneider plays the lead and plays a similar character he played in Lake Placid 2. Daryl Hannah plays his wife and really adds nothing to this film other than a recognizable name. Armand Assante plays the swanky real estate developer and actually pulls off the performance very convincingly. Shark Swarm must have been a made to air on television. There is very little violence, no swearing, and shitty commercial break fadeouts. Since this is part of the Manhunter series it might have been designed to air on the Sci-Fi Channel like many of the other Manhunter movies. The CGI was horrible. I give them credit for working around their limitations. Every time a shark would attack someone they would cut away and just show a lot of red in the water. They must have only done a few CGI scenes with the sharks because they would just show the same scenes over and over again. It might not have been that noticeable if they didn't show the same scene several times only a few seconds apart. The major problem I have with Shark Swarm was that it is almost three hours long. The filmmakers could have edited this down to make this a 90 to 100 minute movie. There is no reason for it to last longer because in this case more doesn't mean better. There were several scenes that could have been trimmed like several of the random shark kills or almost every scene with the EPA agent as she was completely wasted and added nothing to this movie. Many shark movies tend to copy or recreate scenes from JAWS. This movie is no different. They pulled out a shark tooth from a hole in a boat, a town hall meeting that was done slightly different, and there was even a scene with a shark cage. Overall this movie wasn't entirely a waste of time. If you like bad shark movies or bad sci-fi movies then you might like this one. I am pretty sure the near three hour runtime will keep even those viewers away.

User Review - 4/10 by Justin Bit's not a bad movie, but at 2 and a half hours long, you could of cut out an HOUR of human interaction and had a better movie. Lots of shark action, but lots of focus on the human actors...and most of them are serviceable at best. 2 Stars, simply because I laughed my ass off at the swim instructor who died after showing the little girl the water was fine and the mom ignored the kid by yammering away on her cell phone. Some pretty decent modern realism in a horror movie, and the acting was that bad.
