User ReviewManniMecnecss CVery touch with the charactor Ryo because at the end when I know he is actually innocent at the beginning. But the violent environment causes him to become a fighter to gain his self-esteem. Great education movie.
User ReviewJames HThis is a really intense, dark and horrifying film, so you could hate it or you could love it, but there's nobody in between. I highly doubt that the guys who wrote and created this film is sane, because it starts with this opening credit scene. It's simple as hell and yet it shows a complete essence within a minute. When you watch Shawn Yue's other films such as "Dragon Tiger Gate" or "Infernal Affairs" or "Velvet Rain", you'll never know he's this good, cuz he's a such a pop icon. I think that he wanted to show he's not a tool for you to make those senseless films-not that I have anything against his films, I love those films-. At the same time, this is an old-school martial arts film. There's this underdog boy, he meets this master that trains him, and he conquers his fears so that he could win his ultimate enemy. This is just a simple film but portrayed by this extreme way. Either you love it or you hate it, you can't deny this is one of its kind. In the end, you'll find out why he "killed" his parents, and you'll be moved by that fact. But they're not tears coming out from your eyes. It's just sweat.
User ReviewZachary LoH.. suchhh a good movie. love the plot, love the fighing... Shawn Yue did such a good job in this movie... really pulled off this act with a lot of attitude. Francis Ng is not bad either. lol. but really... love the plot... i liked this movie better than Million Dollar Baby... a similar movie.
User ReviewWilliam MCrazy action! The plot was disturbing, but still something worth watching.
User ReviewArnaud LCasting and technical aspects are pretty good. But the mix of dark storyline and the Karate aspect of the film have difficulty to interact well with each others.
User ReviewTina YI didn't seem to get the movie at all!
User ReviewVincent BUn Fight Movie comme je les affectionne. Con mais bien emballé et super hargneux.
User ReviewGreg NOkay turn by director Cheang but rather disappointing after the bleak yet fascinating "Dog Eat Dog". The final fight was so Rocky.
