| Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzSurprisingly suspenseful patriotic wartime programmer about Nazi shenanigans in a lighthouse near Alcatraz. |
| User ReviewKeiko NSeven Miles from Alcatraz (1942) -- [4.0] -- James Craig and Frank Jenks escape from Alcatraz and take up shelter at a nearby lighthouse. The convicts manage to keep the lighthouse staff at bay, but things get a bit more challenging when a trio of Nazi spies join the party. "Seven Miles from Alcatraz" is claustrophobic and stagey, with some icky overacting from James Craig. The narration doesn't help, and the end of the movie -- which sees the convicts forgiven for their aid in uncovering the Nazi scheme -- is just plain corny. |
