Ed and Alice live together and will soon marry. She decides she'd like more sexual experiences before settling down with the man she loves, so she convinces Ed they should "see other people" (as in, sex with strangers), even as they continue to live together and plan the wedding. They discuss it. Each knows someone who thinks this idea is cool; each has a friend who thinks they're nuts. Things start reasonably well, but soon their relationship goes awry. Movie Reviews

Flick Filosopher - 9/10 by MaryAnn JohansonThis small-scale flick manages a kind of knowing intimacy in its only slightly exaggerated characters and situations...
L.A. Weekly - 8/10 by Scott FoundasBegins as a refreshingly subversive departure from the Hollywood studios' cookie-cutter romances, but the thin script can't sustain that initial charge, and it soon flattens out, like a punctured comic balloon.
Film Threat - 8/10 by D. W. SmithAnother astute independent comedy shot on a small budget and boasting high laugh-per-minute ratio. But these are good laughs, not your average sitcom laughs.
Chicago Tribune - 8/10 by Robert K. ElderWhatever the film lacks in presentation, it makes up for in laughs and ensemble performances that sing.
Village Voice - 8/10 by Joshua LandWhile lacking a knockout scene, the script is full of solid laughs punctuated with pangs of emotional insight.
Dallas Morning News - 8/10 by Matt WeitzEvery plot turn reinforces the conventionality of what pretends to be a groundbreaking concept.
Reel.com - 8/10 by Timothy KnightThe snappy one-liners, stereotypical characters, and labored narrative contrivances are all here in this episodic romantic comedy -- all that's missing are commercial breaks.
Compuserve - 7/10 by Harvey S. KartenSilly sex farce involving self-absorbed people.
TV Guide - 7/10 by Ken FoxIt's not only sexy, clever and well-acted by a fine cast of mostly TV actors, but it's also a grown-up comedyabout honest-to-God grown ups.
Dallas Observer - 7/10 by Luke Y. ThompsonWhat results ultimately plays like a feature-length episode of an HBO comedy series like Sex and the City -- gratuitous nudity and all.
