| User ReviewMarina NI have seen several documentaries about the Titanic. Usually they either cover the stories of the passengers or discuss the chronology of sinking and physics behind it. This documentary combines both by looking exclusively on the people behind the technics. It provides a totally new angle to the tragic story that should been shed light on long ago. It actually gives credit to the engineers, electricians, fireman, fitters etc onboard that made it possible to save the lives that were saved. I think it's remarkable that the lights didn't go out until 2 minutes before Titanic sank. Some boilers had to be operated until the very end and the brave men who kept working knowingly sacrificed their lives to keep the machines going. The documentary is based on the reports from the surviving crew and therefore on first-hand information. In terms of educational value, it is probably my favorite documentary about the Titanic. |
