User Review - 10/10 by Pablo MInspired by a real event that took place in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, this film starts out by following the lives of three different characters. One is a priest who's having doubts about his faith, the other is an army veteran who gives private lessons of English, as he fought for the US army, and the third is a girl trying to make ends meet by working in a public marketplace in the city and who takes a chance by following two dubious males who promise her a way out of her dead-end job. At the beginning I kept wondering where was this film going, and what the relation between its three distinct characters was all about. But as you follow the film, you're taken through some paths that would've better been left alone. this is an extremely well made film. The actors are really good, especially Mexican actor Damian Alcazar, who nails his part so perfectly, it took me a while to figure out that he wasn't Colombian at all. Damian Alcazar is one of the few actors I know who can actually play a part using only his face, as you can read every thought that passes through his mind, just by looking at him. What a performance! The film is extremely well shot and kudos also to the director, who though this is his first film, shoots in a classic way, that is to say, no shaky, hand-held camera movements and jerky cuts every three seconds. This is closer to Hitchcock than to Michael Bay, and thank god for that. If you research on what this is base, is quite a story, again this movie is so well made you can bealive his low budget and that it almost didn´t get produce. In my opinion this is the best Columbian movie in history and one of the greatest ever to come for any latin american country . . . .

User Review - 10/10 by Cesar BUna de las cosas que mas me gusta del cine es que en ciertas ocasiones tiene la decencia de mostrar la vida como es, y no de maquillarla o disfrazarla de otras realidades. Satanas es una delicia descriptiva y visual de la realidad del mundo en el que vivimos, hay unas personas que por diferentes razones en sus vidas rompen su codigo moral y hacen cosas de las que se sienten culpables, e intentan remediarlo haciendo lo que ellos creen debieron hacer antes de cometer esos "errores", y intentan empezar una nueva vida, a lo bien, como debe ser... pero paralelamente a todo esto, esta la vida de una persona perturbada, sola, desequilibrada y llena de odio... que se encarga de que 29 vidas incluyendo las de las anteriormente mencionadas y la propia no continuen su trascurso, que no haya segundas ni primeras oportunidades, ni posibilidades de enmendar los "errores", ni nada... Todas y cada una de las escenas de esta maravillosa pelicula es un retrato de la vida, que siempre no es justa, siempre no es bonita, siempre no es tranquila, es simplemente vida... en el mundo siempre hay hambre, impotencia, injusticia, odio, maldad en todas sus manifestaciones y por supuesto asesinatos. y esta pelicula nos muestra todo eso, tal y como es,sin maquillajes, sin querer disfrazar, sin juicos morales, en los que cada uno es responsable por sus actos y cada uno actua bajo su propia version de lo "correcto" asi no sea lo que el resto del mundo defina como tal... En la pelicula no hay renaceres, ni segundas oportunidades, ni finales felices, ni vidas perfectas, por que de nada de eso hay en la vida, o al menos nada de eso hubo en las vidas que no continuaron en las que se baso esta pelicula. Es para mi una pelicula impecablemente hecha y definitivamente inolvidable.
