So long as this anecdotal look-in upon the experience of a husband and wife in bringing up two foster children, as well as three of their own, sticks simply to the humorous complications that arise in a house full of kids, plus appropriate livestock and paraphernalia, it has genuine gaiety and domestic charm.

Cary Grant and Betsy Drake give remarkable performance. The screenplay is well written. Norman Taurog did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the comedy and family elements.
User Review - 8/10 by Scott SContinuing my theme of recording anything that turns up on TCM starring Cary Grant, I grabbed this awhile back and finally gave it a day in court this past week. Real life couple Grant and Betsy Drake play a couple with three children who end up adopting three children who have had a hard time fitting in with other foster families but meet their match in the Job-like patience of Drake. The movie has some truly tear-jerking moments with the kids, but manages to balance this against enough humor to keep the audience from becoming too despondent. Really good film, recommended.

I love discovering movies like this on TCM - it makes for a nice vacation from the cynicism of most of the films that get made today (yes, I know I sound old).
