Full Plot Details

Roman (Lucky McKee) is a lonely young man who yearns to find love, happiness and companionship. Tormented by his ungrateful co-workers and trapped in a life of tedium as a welder in a local factory, Roman's one pleasure is his obsession with the elusive beauty (Kristen Bell) who lives in another apartment in his building complex. When a chance encounter with the young woman goes horribly wrong, a moment of frenzied desperation triggers a chilling turn of events leading to the girl's murder. As he teeters between deranged fantasy and cold reality, Roman's struggle to hide his grisly secret is further complicated by an eccentric neighbor named Eva (Nectar Rose) who develops an unlikely attraction to Roman and forces herself into his dark and tortured world.

Main character: Love-Struck; Obsessive-Compulsive; Schizophrenic, Rapist, with Asperger's Syndrome, and a hint of Necrophelia!! How can you go wrong with this? Believe it or not............This film was very well done. The character interaction was genuine. This movie is well worth watching multiple times.

User Review - 10/10 by Brenton SWhat can I say about Lucky Mckee? He has a fantastic, grotesque imagination. Angela Bettis does a hell of a job behind the camera (movie is very low budget, and it shows... but in a good way) Start with May and then if you like that flick then check out Roman. It is like May, but much darker and less funny.
User Review - 10/10 by Tristan PIt's tempting to describe ROMAN as MAY with the director and star's roles reversed, but I think that would be selling ROMAN short. Angle Bettis's direction is creative without being needlessly flashy or pretentious, and Lucky McKee's acting is very good, he's vulnerable without being whiny. In other words, ROMAN is a lot more than just a film starring a director and directed by an actor. Kristen Bell and Nectar Rose are both great in this, too. ROMAN has a great ending, and would make a good double feature with Joel Moore & Adam Green's SPIRAL.
