Lajos Bicó, local mason's father vowed during the war if he returned alive from the Don, he would erect a statue of Mary the Virgin. The old man returned home safely, but he could not make the statue. His son tries to fulfill his father's last wish, and acquires a statue of the so-called Peasant Madonna, which then becomes Madonna in a helmet.
