Movie Reviews

MovieFreak.com - 8/10 by Sara Michelle FettersThe pieces just fit together too nicely to be even moderately dismissed, Road Games an intoxicating, adrenaline-fueled thriller that's as brutal as it is invigorating.
Eye for Film - 8/10 by Jennie KermodeThough its tendency to whimsy means it's not quite as tightly plotted as it needs to be, this charismatic little thriller still manages to punch above its weight.
Daily Dead - 8/10 by Heather WixsonSome may find Road Games a bit convoluted at times, but for me, the story's perplexing nature is so methodically purposeful that I can't help but tip my hat to Pastoll, who manages to create an intensely fun and often unsettling cinematic conundrum.
FILMINK (Australia) - 5/10 by Sophia WatsonFor genre aficionados, this is a clever, refreshing take on an old story, and for everyone else, it's simply thrilling to get lost in translation.
User Review - 10/10 by Kirby JStunning film, visually and psychologically. Fantastic score too. Instant favorite!
User Review - 8/10 by Arjun AiTS really a thriller, you will not know until the last 10 minutes of the movie, as thrill movie lover I enjoyed it
User Review - 6/10 by Michael TRoad Games is bound to be compared to Richard Franklin's Hitchcockian Horror/Thriller from the early 1980s, Roadgames but it actually has more in common with Robert Fuest's early 1970s Horror/Thriller And Soon The Darkness. Like in that film, a killer is stalking the rural back-roads of the picturesque French countryside. Andrew Simpson plays a British hitchhiker trying to make it back home to England via Calais. He meets up with the stunningly gorgeous Josephine De La Baume who is also hitching her way through France but is in no particular hurry to get anywhere. They are picked up by a seemingly friendly good Samaritan, played by Frederic Pierrot who invites them back to his chalet were his American wife (Cult Horror movie actress Barbara Crampton) is waiting. Lots of suspicious goings on here with plenty of Red Herrings, and it is well acted but I admit that I had figured out the "twist" ending well in advance. Director Abner Pastoll is well versed in the tricks needed to maintain suspense and just as in And Soon The Darkness the rural French countryside is beautifully photographed but remains a very scary and isolated locale.
User Review - 4/10 by WS WMajorly French-speaking suspense, still lame.
User Review - 4/10 by John KFor a horror film with an hour of build-up, there's a lot of talking and little tension. Prepare yourself for a lot of contrivances and plot holes, along with characters who behave in wholly unrealistic ways. While there is a cool third-act twist and the language barrier is leveraged in interesting ways, these aren't enough to off-set a film with no unique voices and a lot of expository dialogue.
User Review - 4/10 by Chazzyc .Did I miss something? Or this was just another plain dumb amateur feature?
