Leave your thoughts about Revenge of the Creature.
Movie ChambersPaul ChambersIf I ever watch this film again, I will time the sequences showing the creature swim underwater. Swim, swim, swim, swim, swim. Very repetitive and definitely not scary.
Antagony & EcstasyTim BraytonIt's impossible to overstate how utterly tedious the central stretch of Revenge of the Creature is.
CinematicalJohn GholsonThere's nothing particularly remarkable about it, and it plays out almost exactly how you expect it to, but as a monster matinee, you could do a lot worse.
User ReviewEvan (6 ft. baby giraffe)I have to confess that I have viewed this film more than the classic original and for some reason find this just a bit more entertaining. I love the fact that the creatures face looks so different compared to the first film. The coke bottle like eyes just make me laugh!! I still wonder to this day whether or not that pelican was really drowned during the filming of the movie*
User ReviewElise MWhile nowhere near on par of the original. The Revenge is a great horror movie that should be watched an treasured. The acting is good and the creature returns to...Sea World, and escapes and causes havoc. Must see for fans of old films.
User ReviewDe Maio DThe second installment of the "Creature" series is arguably better than the original (and miles ahead of the 3rd). It's one of the first sequels where I can honestly say I prefer it to the first...very rare in any genre, but especially in horror/science-fiction. Basically, scientists capture the creature, lock him up in a Sea World-type habitat, and make it earn his keep by being watched by spectators. Well, as you might expect, the creature escapes and goes on a rampage that set the bar for all chaos in "creature" films to come in any genre. Example: the buoy scene in the lake when the girl is being dragged around? Yep, very close to what happens in the opening scene of "Jaws" and far pre-dates it. There's a few others too. Interesting if nothing else. I think it really stands up and to me is the most original of the three films. Of all of the "classic" horror series' I'd pick the "Creature" franchise without flinching. "Dracula" , "Wolfman", and "Frankenstein" are all amazing and terrifying, but this series seems to be the most FUN of the franchises while also bringing some major envirenmental and animal habitat questions. Very much ahead of its time. Absolutely classic.
User ReviewWill "the Thrill" VThis is how "monster on the loose" is done.
User ReviewJeff BPointless sequel to a silly 50s B-Movie that takes almost an hour for the creature to start his "revenge." Very similar to "Jaws 3-D" in a lot of aspects, including terribleness.
User ReviewNeil Pthis movie is action to the brim...by far the best movie of 1955
User Reviewkaleb lIf you Liked the First Film, Then Give this one a shot, While it is not close to being as good as the First, it is still an Entertaining Film. Full of Action in the second half, and of course Gill Man.Not Much to say in this reveiw besides, Its a worthy Sequal.
