User ReviewAdela GI LOVE THIS! Someone tell blockbuster to get it on dvd. It is only on VHS and I cannot find it anywhere.
User ReviewChristopher T0 stars, normally, but I'm giving it 5 in MST3K version. One of the best episodes ever!
User ReviewAlanna TOne of the stupidest films ever made, but one of the most hilarious MST3K episodes ever (that's why it gets 5 stars). So many good quotes!
User ReviewJeremy PIf this is the movie I think it is, then I love it! ...But the version I saw was on Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was hilarious on that show. I have never seen it without the stupid puns going on in the background ^_^
User ReviewSuperBen SI'm a fan of David Warner, so he made this movie interesting.
User ReviewSusan DObvious (and cheap) attempt to cash in on the misplaced mysticism of "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." Most of it's pretty bad, but (in a dual role) David Warner is actually pretty funny as the Rickman/Nottingham-like Lord Vultare, while he makes an enchantingly handsome wizard-mentor. (Check out this movie if you don't think he'd have made a great Dumbledore.) The Mystery Science Theatre version, by contrast, gets 4 stars ... showing reverence for David Warner by, unfortunately, cutting some of his funniest Vultare lines.
User ReviewAndy CYou get the sense watching this movie that the producers had this sort of LARPing fantasy that they decided to put on screen. It starts out some kid (a male Mary Sue) is bought at a slave auction by David Warner and since he calls him master throughout the movie, and David Warner is "training" him, I think they're in a BDSM relationship, I'm not sure. Turns out there's this bad guy who is also played by David Warner and works for some mistress whom we never hear anything about, whose job is to stop Mary Sue. Anyway, our Mary Sue hero soon gets inducted in a secret society who's job is to find the lost storehouse of Archimedes (you know buoyancy principle guy). Mary Sue then goes on a trek across Europe runs into Leonardo diVinci (possibly in Italy, although I'm not sure if this movie was even filmed in Europe), and a very hot chick who works as a "rent girl" but is really a princess. Anyway, if you're looking to break a ren-faire addiction, I suggest you check this movie out, otherwise. MSTed this movie is great, especially since it's the only time Pearl goes into the theater, and Mary Jo is really good at riffing (and she gave the bots a mint).
User ReviewKarla RPart 2!!!! Girl in Gold Boots Terrible acting, and the worst continuity I have ever seen. ** (When Buzz suddenly "appears" at the diner table) Tom (as Buzz): I'm back! (later) Mike (as Buzz): Does anybody notice that I'm here now? (later) Crow (as Buzz): C'mon, I just teleported here; it's impressive! Final Justice Not even Joe Don Baker could save this movie - in fact, he made it ten times worse! ** Mike (as Geronimo) *singing*: Everybody's burping at me; I can't smell a thing they're eating... The Phantom Planet Uninteresting, average acting, not very original. ** Crow (as the Old Guy): Oh, I just vaulted an air biscut - I'm out of here. Father Frost (Or Jack Frost as MST3K calls it) Surprisingly good; great dubbing, and it's a sweet story - very original. ** (As Father Frost frosts the trees) Mike: EAT LEAD, SPRING!!! Quest of the Delta Knights The acting is not terrible, but the script is awful. ** (The music sweeps dramatically as T and Baydool escape and beat up the guards) Tom *singing*: Booorn free!! Baydool (holding up some food): Would you like some food? Tom (as Travis): I would, but what's that crap you're holding up? (a few fat drunks have raised their mugs) Mike, Tom, Crow: NORM! These (along with part 1) are the only MST3k episodes I've seen, or remember seeing (I have them on tape). It seems that the Sci-fi channel has stopped showing them on Saturday mornings, so it doesn't look like I'll be taping anymore anytime soon...
