User ReviewShawn WOne of those movies where it's just plain bad. You can't make an action packed schlocky movie about the Vietnam War. It just doesn't work. A cool mine defusing scene, and the other best scene is then ruined by a terrible acting moment. A very forgettable piece of schlock.
User ReviewAlex .Ima give this two stars just now, cause its a true story and classic Dudikoff, and I liked it when I was wee...but watching it now, sometimes I was like ...dude -gay! lmao
User ReviewAllan CGolan/Globus Cannon Pictures nonsense pretending it's a serious film about the Vietnam War. The American Ninja, Michael Dudikoff, plays a young officer (not a ninja), just out of West Point and sent to Vietnam. Dudikoff must then earn the respect of his battle hardened men. Nothing you haven't seen before and done much better, but on the plus side, there is a small role for my all-time favorite character actor, William Smith, as a commanding officer. FUN FACT! This was directed by Chuck Norris' brother and is the only film he ever directed that didn't star Chuck.
User ReviewAl JThe Viet Nam war is brought home with stark reality by Michael Dudikoff as an undermanned American unit protects a Vietnamese area from the Viet Cong. The Cannon Group's answer to an Oscar winner which goes by a strikingly similar title.
