It is not the tale of a man and a leopard who fall in love; the man falls in love with the leopard and all that she symbolizes; the desert and freedom from society's constraints. That's part of the reason why the ending is so heartbreaking. I love this film.

Its the Romeo and Juliet that could have been the Jungle Book, if that was the point Kipling was thinking of making. Anyway, this actor and his co-stars, a group of leopards put the most gentile of aristocrats to shame when they bask in the sun of the most breathtaking desert landscapes. Finding solace in the patient, graceful wilderness before the world of man encroaches from without.

User Review - 10/10 by Becky Eloved it so much the first time that i dreaded seeing it again. but it only proved as perfect and moving as before. ok, admitedly i love animals! but its beyond that. there is just such poetry and generosity in this tale of passion that you have to be really brutish not to be sucked in. it's nearly entirely shot in petra (jordan), how much dreamier can it get? the music by jose nieto is one of the best ost i've heard and is spiritual without being corny. see it. try it. give it a chance. it might not do it for you. but if it does, you'll adore it.
