Movie Reviews

The Playlist - 8/10 by Rodrigo Perez...it's an insipid confection of cloying hopefulness, bubblegum teen spirit and self-reflexive clever quips.
Aisle Seat - 8/10 by Mike McGranaghanA funny, sweet story about a young woman coming to terms with her personal beliefs.
TheFilmFile.com - 8/10 by Dustin PutmanAn eminently compelling slice-of-life made all the more enjoyable by Julianne Hough's irresistible turn as the sympathetic, multi-shaded Lamb.
Flick Filosopher - 7/10 by MaryAnn JohansonDiablo Cody has a new movie... but you'd hardly know it was her work, for all the bite it lacks.
Blu-ray.com - 7/10 by Brian OrndorfSentiment doesn't adhere, but the simplicity of the picture is agreeable, with Cody refusing to make the film laborious just to add weight.
Screen International - 6/10 by John HazeltonAn offbeat but curiously flat tale of self-discovery and belonging.
Film School Rejects - 6/10 by Jack GirouxParadise is far from a bad start, but it's not the introduction Cody was probably capable of making.
Paste Magazine - 6/10 by Norm SchragerCody's fresh coming-of-age story keeps pulling back from blossoming into something a bit magical.
The Film Stage - 6/10 by Jared MobarakAdd Paradise to the list of Juno copycats as it takes Cody's own clichéd, heightened reality and unabashedly tries way too hard in doing so.
RedEye - 6/10 by Matt PaisNice to see Cody on a more entertaining track, coating the yellow brick road with her own brand of bitter glitter.
