Parallax ViewSean Axmaker... he distracted, sloppy camerawork, perfunctory scripting, flat dubbing, and ratty make-up make this one for the Franco-philes, and for those who find camp value in clumsy, shamelessly brazen exploitation.
User ReviewPrivate Uhow could you not like this movie? it was soooo bad!
User ReviewR.John XTHINGS I LEARNED WATCHING THIS MOVIE! 1. High heels are great for the desert. So are jean cut offs, even though all the men have their shirts OFF or open to plunging depths of belly button hair. 2. The British used US Army jeeps in the North African theater of World War II. 3. You come first is not a promise. 4. Most of the budget went up the actor's noses. In fact there is one scene where you can actually see the coke on his nose (1:00:47). 5. Even jeeps are difficult to drive in the sand! 6. While it takes nearly ten minutes for the zombies to emerge from the sand, when the sun rises they vanish! 7. If it takes all you friends getting eaten to find "yourself" you might be a jerk. 8. Sand burns really well and some times explodes! WHAT IT TOOK TO MAKE THIS MOVIE! A spider. A still of some Arabian desert architecture. Four Camels. Five jeeps. Some old German military equipment. A couple of earth worms. NO Exterior lights, since the night is filmed in the middle of the afternoon. One special effects record for the howling night wind and crickets and exotic jungle birds that will not stop squawking. Organ music really sets the mood! At least one fake skull. oh and a few pyrotechnics! Quote of the movie - "Lets get some bottles and make Molotov cocktails - like in school!" I wouldn't say avoid this one, since its a Franco classic, I would just warn you that you are in for a really annoying movie.
User ReviewShawn WOf course this was going to be a shit film, but it made me laugh and thats good enough for me!
User ReviewMichael TBadly dubbed early Zombie Movie that is more laughable than scary.,but fun if there is nothing else to watch, if no more than for it's hammy acting and campness.
User ReviewWes SNow here's a case of real disappointment on my part. Oasis of the Zombies (or as it's known on IMDB Treasure of the Living Dead) started out with a really captivating opening sequence that drew me into the film. You received some information about where the film would be taking place and they don't show you anything in order to build up some suspense. Then they move on to a couple of characters who you want to know more about. After that, the movie falls flat on its face. I will give them a little credit with the zombies. They were sort of creepy looking and reminded me more of the old voodoo zombies from films like I Walked With a Zombie. The colors of the film were quite lush as well, even though the cinematography is complete garbage at times. It's a shame that this movie got boring so fast because it started out so well and would have made at least an effective horror film, even if it wasn't perfect. Oh well. Can't with them all.
User ReviewChristopher SNazi zombies? Sounds good in theory but to make it work, you actually need more nazi zombies
User ReviewCarlos BA terrible, dull B-movie. Better Franco out there...
User ReviewColin JThis film was hilarious because it was just stupid. At the end I was like "did I really just watch that?" so all I could was laugh at myself. 1/5
User ReviewCarlos SHorrible zombie film, bad acting, bad script, bad direction. Some of the zombies themselves are not bad, considering the budget and production values, but overall, a complete stinker, stick with Fulci or Romero. If you really feel the need, it is public domain so you can find it pretty easily on line.
