Leave your thoughts about Nuts.
Nolan's Pop Culture ReviewMichael A. SmithUnderated movie with great performances by Streisand and Dreyfuss.
Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertNuts is essentially just a futile exercise in courtroom cliches, surrounding a good performance that doesn't fit.
Chicago ReaderJonathan RosenbaumStreisand produced, developed the script, and composed most of the music for this showpiece, and her efforts, as usual, pay off, above all in her angry and lively performance.
New TimesGregory WeinkaufLeslie Nielsen in his panties is more engaging than the entire remainder of this horrid bore.
User ReviewCraig TThis is a good movie . . . PROFESSIONAL FILM CRITICS ARE NUTS and give good movies low ratings. Nuts offers great psychological insight into the motivations of people who are found in unpleasant circumstances. Leslie Nilson's mother abused him and he tried to kill Barbra Streisand and Barbara Streisand's Father molested her and she became a prostitute (because being molested probably makes you feel worthless over-time and not in control of your own body and actions--abuse effects everyone differently). At any rate Leslie Neilson's character intersected with Barbara Streisand's character and Leslie Neilson's character is murdered. Everyone has the potential to be nuts . . . and this movie examines some of the reasons leading up to NUTTY behavior.
User ReviewRyan KI can relate to this character. Very powerful perfomance by Barbra Streisand.
User ReviewMatthew MA play written into a movie that is done well. The acting is what makes the picture because most of the scenes are set in a courthouse. Leslie Nielsen plays the bad guy well. It was surprising at how dark the film was but it also had an interesting theme. I mean she was trying to figure out if she was crazy herself. Overall, it is a lot like watching a play more than a movie but it still is a great courtroom drama.
User ReviewDiana WUnder-rated! Barbara & Dreyfus are stellar in this! Not for the weak of heart, no Funny Girl or Tin Man here! Seriously serious folks!
User ReviewPrivate UWow, what a performance by Babs! It's a buttah-filled movie!
User ReviewJonathon NA film that most would not consider 5 stars. Barbra is not glamorous here, she is raw, exposed and vulnerable. Maureen Stapleton delivers, she is perfectly cast as the mother who turns her head the other way.
