Movie MetropolisJames PlathI can't in good conscience call this one of John Wayne's best movies, but I have to say that 'North to Alaska' has always been one of my favorites. It's just plain fun.
The Retro SetNathanael Hood...one of the most unexpected and delightful surprises of Henry Hathaway's entire career.
Journal and Courier (Lafayette, IN)Bob BloomAn OK John Wayne up north comedy western. Not one of his better efforts, but it has its moments.
User Reviewjanetta bThis movie is awesome, another one that I watched with my grandpa.....

User Reviewdavid pwonderful movie about friendship and love with comedy...great story...
User ReviewHolly CAnother hillarious westernd with classic romantic cat & mouse.
User ReviewAshley HJohn Wayne plays Sam McCord, who teams up with George Pratt, played by Stewart Granger, striking it rich with a gold mine around turn of the century in Alaska. Fabian plays George's younger brother, Billy. George sends Sam back to Seattle to bring back his bride to be; instead, Sam brings back a chorus girl played by Capucine. Henry Hathaway directs this fist swinging comedy. Of course, Mr. Wayne is in charge of the fist fights and Fabian is the butt of and source of most of the comedy. Comic Ernie Kovacs plays snide claim jumper. Fast paced frolic of a picture. An enjoyable lighter side of 'Duke' Wayne.
User ReviewLindsay HNorth! to Alaska, oh the rush is on. Did they come up with the movie after the song, or was it the other way around?
