User ReviewWilliam SOf all the J Horror I've seen, this one had the best understanding of atmosphere. I'm not going to sleep well tonight :)
User ReviewKevin OThis is perhaps one of the greatest horror movies of all time, and certainly one of the very best representatives of the "found footage" sub-genre. A great story, eminently creeply, and thoroughly entertaining. A lot of people didn't like the so-called "super psychic" character's acting, but if you've ever met a catastrophically schizophrenic person, you'll know the actor did an amazing job portraying lunacy. It was also quite chilling the way his portrayal implies that many of the people we write off as merely insane, may well simply be detecting actual phenomena that escapes our less sensitive perceptions. This is a fantastic film, and I can't recommend it strongly enough to fans of horror cinema. And be sure to check out his Lovecraftian, "found footage" 2009 feature, "Occult," as well!
User ReviewDan Joseph PThis was the only horror movies (from 300+ I've watched) which SUCCESSFULLY scared the living daylight outta me. I fell into the director's trap and believing it was real, hence I couldnt even sleep the night after I watched this. Although it was a relatively long winded movie, the sense of creepiness did not fail to be delivered within each minute. This movie is definitely waaaaaaaay scarier than Blair Witch. If you are a faint hearted person, I won't encourage you to watched this.
User ReviewSam WDefinitely the 2nd or third best horror movie I've ever seen.
User ReviewJuan VA top notch entry on the found footage genre, this intense, scary, creepy and dreary horror film will stay with you for a long while thanks to it's excellent direction, acting and sound design. If you feel okay after watching it during nighttime then you must be soul-less. Absolutely recommended.
User ReviewLogan AOne of my absolute favorites of the found footage/mockumentary horror sub-genre, Noroi represents Shiraishi's most successful foray into the genre as he blends a series of bizarre and seemingly unrelated characters and events together into one larger, paranormal occurrence. Strange and creepy, Noroi will keep you guessing from one moment to the next and continually suprise you on the long, strange, scary, and stylish march towards its conclusion.
User ReviewShayne JThis is the scariest movie of all time. Bottom line. Watch it at night, turn all your lights off, turn your volume up, and it will chill you to the bone. Seriously. It's supposed to be in the style of a found footage documentary and damn, it pulls that off 100%. At times I was asking myself what parts were real and what parts weren't. I won't say what is and what isn't but the ending... the ending will leave you crying of fear. I can't praise this movie enough.
Altamente recomendada.
