That may be why this police film, with an international cast and a plot about international terrorism, has so much punch. All of it is standard stuff, and yet Nighthawks has been assembled with enough pep to make it feel fresh. It is particularly helped by the performances of Rutger Hauer, a Dutch actor who makes a startling impression as a cold-blooded fiend, and Sylvester Stallone, from whom less is definitely more.

Rutger Huaer and Bill D Williams are both in there...can't say enough about this movie.... and it was about a terrorist in our country threatening New York city, that's pretty contemporary considering it was made in 1981

User Review - 10/10 by M DSylvester Stallone's best film and one of the best films of the 80's. This is a tough thriller centred around a terrorist named Wolfgar, who is intent on bringing New York to its knees. A strong and vivid thriller that has a brilliant music score, well-staged disco sequences, an intense chase sequence through the New York City subway and realistic performances throughout. 10/10.
