Jay's newly-wed Kristen Ward, poor-born daughter of single sheriffs deputy Annie, attempts to mediate a compromise. Jay however is furious that Barbara started initiating Kristen in his dark family secrets, and shortly after Barbara has a fatal fall at home. This renders the Wards, and her resort-employed gay old friend Bob Sloan, increasingly suspicious of Jay and his henchman Mark Adams. They are all in for unpleasant surprises.
