In the year 2053, the earth has been devastated by a military experiment gone awry. The ozone layer is gone, radioactive clouds drift across the plains, and unpredictable, intense bursts of ultra-violet sunlight (called "brights") incinerate anyone caught outside. In these conditions, a group of travelers are trying to get from the frontier town of Jericho to the paradise safe haven of Neon City: A doctor named Tom, an old man with a mysterious past, a prostitute, a spoiled rich girl, an untalented comedian, and a bounty hunter named Stark with his valuable prisoner Reno. They board an armored truck converted into a passenger transport driven by an ex-convict named Bulk. Along they way, the travelers deal with passing though radioactive Xander clouds, 150F degrees of "brights", unstable paved roads, and nomadic motorcycle riders who kill anyone venturing though their territory. During the journey, few, if any, of the passengers turn out to be what they initially appear.

User ReviewMichael WNot bad post-apocalyptic flick. It's no "Mad Max" or "Escape from New York", but it's far better than say "Hell Comes to Frogtown". It's must see viewing for Michael Ironside fans, since this is the only film I can think of where he plays the hero. The story is essentially "Stagecoach" set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland (kind of like what Patrick Swayze did with "Shane" in his not all that horrible "Steel Dawn").
User ReviewChris .Cheap Mad Max wannabe. Could have used more action. Entertaining none the less. This title is kinda of rare, it has never been released on DVD and is only available on VHS(at this time).
User ReviewSteven SA bleak post apocalyptic future after nucleur war. Mutated and deformed humans try to survive out in the scarred wilderness, while the more fortunate humans try to eek out a living by doing various things like selling dog meat, how delightful. And the even more fortunate ones come out from survivalist colonies and underground bunkers to make their way to one of the last havens of civilization, Neon City. The criminal, the mutant euthanaser, the innocent young woman who lived underground with the Swiss, and the truck drivers/gun slinging heroes. Beware of radiation zones, and road warriors. Not a bad movie, but not a timeless classic either.
User ReviewShawn WPerilous journey by road for a group of travellers headed for Neon City. Much like a post-nuclear film only this one sees the Earth's demise from the deterioration of the ozone layer (is that still a problem?). Frankly I expected more from a Michael Ironside and Lyle Alzado collaboration.

User ReviewMichael PWednesday, December 1, 2010 (1992) Neon City SCIENCE- FICTION/ ACTION Often memorable bad guy in such movies as Total Recall and Visiting Hours Michael Ironside does his best on this low budget Mad Max inspired rip-off full of mediocre acting and storyline about a group of passengers surviving a journey while riding through the gas filled o-zone layer to a more promising civilization called "Neon City" with one of the biggest obstacles mutant marauders along the way! 1.5 out of 4
